Picture Post From Days in Oregon

At long last i have some pictures to share with you all. These are all pictures from the last month or two we were in Oregon.

BUN is 1, normal is 8-20. My normal was 4-5 for a while.

here she is getting 30 tubes of blood drawn. that day was pretty rough! I think it is actually illegal to take 30 tubes at once. The first vein they used blew around tube 23. They went to the other arm and by then she'd lost so much blood it just trickled, or dripped shall I say, into the tubes.

this was a HIDA scan. it checked her gallbladder

this would be all of the empty Rocephin bottles, her old IV antibiotic

This is what the PICC looks like without dressing.

And here is with dressing. she named it but she forgets what the name was. As do i. :) :S

A reminder that HE can carry you through

this was some hospital visit. By now i really forget which one.
ER visit 1 of 3 in 3 days. This visit confirmed that she did have a blood clot and her line did need to go.

Here she is with 2 IV accesses and a separate needle poke. They couldn't use her PICC line because of the blood clot, but they hadn't pulled the PICC yet. I think the 3rd poke was a failed attempt at getting her vein.

trying to make it through a POTS attack

a walking video from December

Gilead was her little sunshine! He has curly hair and when hes fresh out of bed, like now, he has an afro.

brother love

Gilead loves her Chapstick and of course purses hold lots of treasures :)

Since she developed a blood clot in the vein, the PICC had to be pulled. #Kissingitgoodbye #tryingnottocry

Mourning the loss of her PICC line. It had really become part of her, and one day it was just pulled out. Never to be replaced.
the purple dot is the site of her exPICC line.

Coumadin clinic in Oregon. a 30 min drive everyday for 10 days. All the while we were trying to pack up and move. Busy, stressful time.

A lovely eye mask gifted to her. It has light blocking material in it and you can NOT see any light through it. (i want one :)

George is folding his "John Baby" (aka a stuffed penguine) up like he saw aunt Nell fold her body up.

Hypermobility... i call this the praying mantis pose.
lovely Oregon sunsets.

Sad to be moving away from Oregon!

"this feels like death" This would be a blood pressure reading of 73/40 with a pulse of 125. The monitar says "ok", how ironic.

trying to look normal.

Sorry its been so long!

It has been a while since i last posted and i apologize. Life has been very busy and this was not at the top of the priority list.

We will try to be more consistent in posting from here on out. Not promising how much, but we want to try. And we'll do our best to keep the posts interesting with pictures! (who doesn't like pictures? :)

Friday the 13th proved to be a day of "good luck" for us! :) We got word from Dr. Jemsek's office that Lynnelle was medically cleared for treatment! This was some of the best news we had received in a while.  Dr. Jemsek  wanted Lynnelle to have a full cardio work up, among other things, before he would start treatment.  Now we are waiting for a call to set up a Port surgery date.

Sunday the 22nd we made a run to the Emergency Room with Lynnelle.  The pills that she'd taken made her feel pretty sick, so we went in monitoring. While we were there, they gave her fluids.

here she is freezing cold waiting on the Dr. to come in.

and her huge hood can be turned around for a light shield under harsh hospital lights.

We got Dr. Milligan which brightened the evening for  mom. She works with him sometimes in the Ped's office. He seemed to have fun trying to get her to be Lynnelles nurse. We were impressed by how fast we were out of the hospital. It was a record time as of now. :) 2.5 hrs later we were walking out, and Lynnelle had instructions to take it easy for 2 days.

Monday we had the last day of Physical Therapy. It was an evaluation, and not actual therapy, so that was nice. While Lynnelle is still very weak, she did make some progress in leg strength. That was encouraging.

With the start of IV antibiotics Lynnelle will likely get much worse. So prayers are still needed! She does also enjoy getting cards and flowers. Family pictures are nice so she can see faces of you even if she doesn't know you. :)

Thank you so much for all the prayers, financial and emotional support! We really do need it and appreciate it!

A quick update...

Lynnelle had Laparoscopy surgery on Friday to clean out some of her Endometriosis. It was an outpatient surgery so they were at the hospital by 6:45AM and were home by 6PM. The Dr. kept them a bit longer for some observation because Lynnelle's health is so fragile but she seems to be healing fairly well from that.

Thank you to all who prayed for Lynnelle and the family during that time!

And we're about to embark...

In mere hours, Susan and Lynnelle leave for this month's Dr. Jemsek appointment. God blessed them with cheap, straight flight tickets so the trip will be greatly shortened and much less stressful. They had planned on driving due to cost of flying, but Lynnelle is really too sick to make the 9 hour drive. So God graciously blessed them with tickets under cost of driving. :)

Another note of news is that they were able to purchase a wheel chair for Lynnelle. So the one that had been borrowed, was returned.

Some have been asking about the need for funds. I don't know where all that stands. I do know that many are sending money to the land address, so the site does not reflect all of the donations. For now, God had provided, but we're just about to start more treatment.

Please pray for Susan and Lynnelle as they travel. Joel will be meeting up with them Friday in Baltimore and he will be going along with them to the appointment. They are grateful for his support.

A lot has happened since we last updated.  Lynnelle and Minnie have moved back to Ohio and are busy making adjustments. They stay busy with trips to many new doctors and just daily life. Minnie is busy taking care of the house and Lynnelle keeps close to bed. She'd trying to get her body built up a bit before starting her new protocol. Right now they are a month away from their second trip to Washington, DC. March 2 they are scheduled to see Dr. Jemsek.

Thank you all for your love, prayers and support! We really appreciate it.

A New Year!

As 2011 closed, a lot of things changed for Lynnelle. She was diagnosed with a blood clot in her arm, she had her PICC line pulled and then a 3rd ER visit cleared her for a clot in her chest. It is a bit disheartening to visit ER 3 days in a row. Especially on New Years Eve.

As this year dawns fresh, she and Minnie are trying to prepare for the big move to Ohio.

May the peace of God  rule in your hearts, and year.
